Reduced Fee Reduced fee services are sometimes available on a limited basis and sometimes for a limited number of sessions.
Insurance Although I do not accept insurance for therapy directly, many insurance plans may reimburse some of your costs (after you meet your deductible) if you submit receipts from me. Ask me to provide these to you at the end of the month. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- Does my mental health insurance provide any reimbursement for an out of network licensed psychologist?
- Do I have a diagnosis that meets their requirements for reimbursement?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- For how many sessions per year does my health insurance provide reimbursement?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Cash or check are accepted for payment at the beginning of each session. I'm afraid I do not accept credit card payments at this time, but I will let clients know if my policy changes.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment and you have not notified me by phone call or text (do not email me, as I don't have as reliable access to email and frequently get 300 emails/day) at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. This is a pretty standard policy in the field and is so that I can have enough lead time to offer that now free time to other clients in need who might otherwise have to wait a week or more to get help. If you show up late for an appointment you can certainly have the rest of the time scheduled for our appointment (i.e., the rest of that 50 mins), but I cannot run late, so as not to inconvenience myself with other responsibilities or other clients arriving on time. Please therefore allow yourself plenty of time to drive, walk, bike, or take public transport at a safe speed to your appointment, park (if necessary), and settle in before your appointment.
